CEO
of Telstra's presence in New Zealand, Rosemary
Howard and Jeff Cambridge MD of HCF Eye
Care told how useful and inspirational they
have both found the tools and techniques
described in the book Spirit Intelligence.
And
former marketing director of Optus, Russell
Scrimshaw shared how he had so valued David's
ability to fire up the 'spirit' in his workforce,
that when moved to head up the 6000-strong
infrastructure division at the Commonwealth
Bank of Australia he invited David to join
him.
These
testimonials described the value of having
a vision. They spoke of the power of a clear
purpose, visual plans and unleashed passion
in moving a workforce to discover its Spirit
Intelligence. And firmly placed this
experience in today's shifting paradigms
of change.
What
the business and media did not discuss at
the launch however was the success that
David Powell and his wife Gabriele have
had in utilising the universal principles
in Spirit Intelligence with their
three adult sons.
Twins,
Nick and Simon (now 22) and James (now 26)
were all encouraged to draw visions for
their lives. All three as teenagers had
big colour graphical life visions on the
back of their bedroom doors.
The
family had regular six monthly mastermind
meetings - often over a special lunch -
to review each other's goals, progress towards
them and their learnings on the journey.
Says
David, 'We also regularly used the "I
feel like saying" tool to enable everyone
to have their say on what was working and
what was not working for them in family
life.'
As
the boys grew older, they also used the
PERT planning tool with big sheets of paper
and yellow post-it notes to plan major projects.
And
David and Gabriele explain, 'We also regularly
discussed systems awareness so they could
search for the root causes of problems.'
So
in addition to inspiring business and helping
in the community, the 175 practical keys
in the book Spirit Intelligence have
been tried and tested to improve family
life. Here's a chance to go beyond 'Tough
Love' to the laws of physics and metaphysics
reflected in the Spirit Intelligence
principles* to inspire your family and master
sustainable success.
A
great Father's Day gift idea from Dymocks
Lane Cove.
